Genesis Donates To Darlington Middle School
Genesis continues to support the athletic efforts of our local schools. Earlier this week, our Director of Marketing Howard Nettles presented a check for $1,000 to Darlington Middle school to use for athletic equipment.
We are proud to support our student athletes and wish them much success.
Lamar Family Care Now Has Free Patient Transportation
Genesis is proud to further our partnership with Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority (PDRTA) (our local public transit system). We now offer free rides to Genesis’ Lamar Family Care for patients who cannot otherwise get there.
The service is provided for our patients who live in the Timmonsville or Lamar areas. Buses run on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment. This is just another way we make an effort to improve our community’s health, by helping our patients receive the care they need with as few obstacles as possible.

Genesis Donates to Darlington High School
As we continue our mission of improving our community’s health, Genesis Healthcare wants to work alongside as many local organizations as possible to reach this goal. To jumpstart 2018, we donated to Darlington High School’s athletics programs to get equipment for their student athletes, and our Director of Marketing, Howard Nettles had the honor of presenting the check.
We hope this donation helps to ensure that the importance of health, especially through athletics, is understood by ages. Let’s all continue to come together to create impactful improvement to our community’s health.
Genesis at the Fall Students in Action Leadership Conference
This past week, Genesis had the pleasure of participating in the Jefferson Awards Foundation’s Fall Students in Action Leadership Conference. This conference promotes, encourages, and recognizes high achieving, high school students across the state who represent a community-oriented mentality, something we are very passionate about Genesis Healthcare.
Represented by our Director of Marketing, Howard Nettles, we facilitated a workshop entitled “What’s Our Service?” The workshop was geared towards helping students determine which community organizations and causes they would like to participate in and provide support for.
The students were engaged in such topics as conducting a Community Needs Assessments, understanding the role of demographics in community work, and how to garner and maintain volunteers and stakeholders.
This year’s conference held at the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in Florence, had 116 students representing 11 high schools located from the Midlands to the Coast.
We would like to thank all the students that came out and participated, and congratulate Howard Nettles for being named an honorary Jefferson Awards Foundation member. Let’s all continue to focus on coming together to create impactful change in the community.
